Monitor and record your spheronization (pelletization) parameters including product temperature - automatically!

General Description:

Datastor ™ is a unique plug-in option that can be connected to any of Caleva's extruders and Spheronizers. Data options and set-up information are added through an operator controlled touch screen that displays real time results as well as the data being recorded during machine operation.

Data readings are taken every five seconds whilst the extruder or spheronizer are running and stored on the apparatus (until moved or removed by the user).

Several parameters can be measured with product temperature, RPM RPM (disk or roller speed), and power consumption being offered as standard. The Datastor unit is plugged into the apparatus and readings are automatically taken and stored.

When the supplied USB memory stick is attached to the Datastor unit the data files are downloaded automatically according to user preference.

CSV data are loaded directly into MS Excel and a read only results sheet automatically generated. The data can then be transferred to a PC away from the laboratory for additional processing as required.

Configuration and Control:

The Datastor system is supplied with the equipment when ordered. For technical reasons it can only be offered as a retrofit to existing equipment if the equipment is returned to Caleva for modification.

Control of the set_up and data logging is by use of an operator controlled touch screen. Control is simple and designed to allow the operator to modify all essential functions whilst keeping routine data recording as automatic as possible.

The operator is offered two main menu choices :

1. Set experiment number

2. Set_up File type, Sample Period Time/date and Delete files

Parameters:
  • Set Experiment Number: As well as being routinely time and date stamped each experiment can be given an operator allocated number for identification purposes.
  • Set_up File type: The file type can be chosen to be stored as a CSV file or as an XML file.
  • Set-up Time/date: An internal clock maintains time even when disconnected from mains power but the operator has the means to change the time and date as required.
  • Set-up Delete Files: The operator can delete the files being stored within the apparatus when these are no longer required or have been copied elsewhere.
