Recording Microbalances, Vacuum Microbalances and Microbalance Kits For Special Applications

General Description:

Concentrating on flexibility, the CI Microbalance range can be tailored to suit your application and budget.

CI offers the basic building blocks, balance head, controller, glassware, furnace, software and accessories for you to assemble into a comprehensive system that will meet your exact requirements. This reduces the need to compromise, as with a more integrated system.

Microbalance Heads:

CI Vacuum Microbalance Heads are specifically designed to provide accurate and sensitive measurement of weight change.  They will record change in weight, with 0.1 microgram sensitivity, under exposure to controlled experimental conditions and over an extended period of time.

CI Microbalance Weigh Heads (sometimes referred to as load cells) are designed to easily interface with glassware systems, allowing the sample to be exposed to specific experimental conditions, such as a partial vacuum, controlled atmosphere or change in temperature.

Disbal Control Unit:

Disbal micro balance control unit

A self contained controller for use with any CI Microbalance head.  It contains a high precision 20 bit A/D converter and a microprocessor which handles all tare, calibration and processing of weight readings. Although normally operated from a PC using our LabWeigh® for Windows, the Disbal has a single line display and control buttons allowing it to be operated independently if necessary.

Labweigh® Microbalance Software:

LabWeigh® for Windows brings new ease of operation and cost efficiency for weight change experiments. It offers real-time display of weight changes with 0.1ug resolution, and temperature changes with 0.3 C resolution. Weight, temperature and rate of change can be logged at specified intervals over periods from 1 minute to 60 days.

Glassware:

CI’s glassware systems are designed to fit to the microbalance hang down ports, protecting the suspended sample and counterweight from air movements. CI offers various lengths and materials to suit a wide range of applications. For controlled environment experiments CI provides the Universal Attachment glassware. It is a versatile piece of equipment providing a means of passing gas over samples or exhausting the products of combustion. There are two Universal Attachment sets available: a standard or high temperature version. The high temperature version allows the sample flask to be heated in a furnace while the balance head is protected from extremes of temperature by a water jacket around the center tube.

Thermogravimetric Kits:

Using a furnace supplied with the kit, CI's Thermogravimetric Kits are designed for applications that involve monitoring change in sample weight at elevated temperatures, possibly at reduced pressure or in a controlled environment.
