Fertin Pharma A/S is a world leader in medical chewing gum, with a very active development department. To ensure all batches are produced within tolerance, Fertin is using a SADE SP Benchtop tablet/capsule weight sorter from CI Electronics.
This compact versatile instrument offers high accuracy (+/-1mg), quick and quiet sorting, and direct report printing. Fertin uses it to weigh 800-1000mg chewing gum products several times per week. Mostly the batches are simply weight sorted but occasionally Fertin use the SADE SP for statistical analysis using the sample checkweighing mode of operation the unit offers.
Allan Vangsgaard, a process engineer in Fertin's research and development support laboratory, comments: “We have had the SADE SP Benchtop weight sorter for about six months and it has been very stable and totally reliable. Fertin has numerous products under development, so it is essential that the checkweigher can be quickly cleaned and set up again, ready for the next batch to be run. The SADE SP Benchtop handles most standard shapes and sizes of product with no need for change parts. All contact parts are manufactured from 316 stainless steel and electro polished as standard.
