Cronimo Multi-Coata 15 Interchangeable Drum Tablet Coater for R&D, Formulation Development and Small Batch Clinical Trial Production

 

General Description:

The Cromino Multi-Coata 15 MP Interchangeable drum tablet coater is designed to apply sugar, aqueous or organic based film coatings onto pharmaceutical oral dosage form tablets. The Multi-Coata can accomodate 6, 10, 25 and 35 liter perforated drums giving it a working capacity from 1 to 24 kg. This versatility makes the Cronimo Multi-Coata an ideal coater for coating small batches of tablets for R&D, clinical trial batches and scale-up studies.

Double cone coating drums are manufactured from 316 stainless steel and electro polished to a mirror finish inside and out. The central portion of the drum is perforated with baffles on the inside to gently tumble and mix the tablets while the drum is rotating. The air injection and exhaust nozzles are strategically placed for maximum drying efficiency.

The inlet air is first filtered through HEPA filtration system and heated either by a steam heat exchanger (standard) or an optional electric filter. The incoming air can also be dehumidified by an optional dehumidifier unit. Finally, the inlet air is filtered through a class F9 filter and/or a HEPA class 113 filter. The exhaust air is filtered through class F8 filter cartridges. The exhaust air plenum is equipped with an air pressure differential switch to detect clogged or broken filters.

The Multi-Coata 15 drums utilize AutoJet® spray guns are designed for quick and accurate set-up, and are adjustable along all three spray axes for best results with different size batches, efficient coating and reduced lacquer consumption. A Watson-Marlow- peristaltic pump is used to deliver the lacquer to the spray gun.
