About CroNiMo

The name CroNiMo is an assemblage of letters derived from three of the basic elements usually found in high quality stainless steels and other exotic alloys (Chromium, Nickel and Molybdenum). As its name implies, CroNiMo is committed to producing machinery for the pharmaceutical industry that blends high quality European craftsmanship and their knowledge of working with Stainless Steel. General Description:

Cronimo cone mills come in a number of sizes and configurations. They can be used for either wet or dry products. Additionally, Cronimo CroMill mills come as either stand-alone models or integrated into the processing stream. For example, a CroMill fitted with a calibration cone can be integrated between a high shear mixer granulator and a fluid bed dryer.

CroMill Models:

Cronimo CroMill cone mill sizes are classified by the diameter of the cones, and come in three basic sizes:

• CroMill 8”: Pharmaceutical Production
• CroMill 5”: Pilot Plant and small batches
• CroMill 3”:R&D and Formulation Development

Furthermore, the mills are also classified by the model type:

• CroMill UL: Basic machine for quick calibration
• CroMill U: Full featured with more options
• CroMill UD: Dedicated mill for high shear granulator and other machines

In-Line Integration:

As mentioned above, the CroMill can be integrated into a processing stream or specifically dedicated to a certain task. The cromill can be fitted with the CroPneumatic vacuum transfer system.

The Mill rotor and motor assembly are dynamically balanced and the CroNiMo air or N2 shaft seal prevents the build-up of material at the shaft and eliminates the possibility of seal material from getting into the product. The shaft speed is variable and the rotor drive shaft disconnects from the mill body via a tri-clamp fitting for easy assembly, disassembly and cleaning. The inlet hopper comes with an inlet-in-position safety sensor. 

The different versions can be adapted to work in areas with potentially explosive dust and vapors, in which case they can be equipped with explosion-proof motors and pressurized cabinets suitable for different zone requirements. CroMill cone mills are available as stand-alone or dedicated units designed to work inline with a granulator or fluid bed dryers, either before or after the dryer. The modular design provides delivery of special configurations such as special heights, shaft lengths and funnels for loading and/or discharging into bins. 

Controls:

Cronimo mills can be suppied with a user-friendly touch screen control panel. Operational parameters and machine functions are available in different languages. Basic functions such as START, STOP, and speed control are controlled by the user pressing specific icons on the touchscreen. The control system is expandable as additional functions can be added.

CroMill conical mills can be supplied with the exclusive Cone ID system. This innovative, patent-pending system allows specific processing cones to be uniquely identified with a product to eliminate any possibility of user error.

Safety:

Cronimo mills are equipped with a number of safety features to help prevent personal injury. Manually loaded mills are equipped with a safety grate made of 316 stainless steel to keep hands and fingers away from the processing area. Mills are also equipped with magnetic safety interlocks to prevent operation of the machine if the hopper and safety grate are not in place, or immediately stop the mill if the interlocks have been disengaged during operation.The electrical cabinet is equipped with an keyed interlock to keep the mill from running if the cabinet is open. The cabinet cannot be opened without the key. The mill is also equipped with an emergency stop button. The mill cannot be restarted unless the operator engages the green power button located on the control panel.
