Mini-Screw Extruder (MSE)
The Caleva Mini-Screw Extruder (MSE) is an ideal bench top, laboratory tool for extruding very small quantities of potent, limited supply or very expensive wet granulated materials.
The MSE is an extruder that is supplied with a single, horizontal, helical screw and a set of extrusion dies that allow the scientist to easily produce various diameter extrudate. The extrusion dies are easy to change and inexpensive when compared to the extrusion screens used in large laboratory extruders. The amount of material that is “lost” (i.e remains in the apparatus) during a run is approximately 5 grams and can vary depending upon the material.
The MSE is very simple to use, clean, maintain and provides you with the small amounts of extrudate needed. Should you need to produce spheroids from the extrudate, then the Caleva Multi-Bowl Speronizer (MBS) is required.
The Multi-Bowl Speronizer (MBS) can be equipped with a very small diameter (60mm) disc and bowl in order to spheronize the extrudate output of the Caleva MSE Mini Screw Extruder.
