The Ikegami POIE-8000C Color Powdered/Granule Inspection System incorporates the color processing technology originally developed for the TIE7000A Color Tablet inspection System with a sophisticated powder handling system to detect the presence of colored foreign matter in powders. This system is used to detect and reject foreign particles from pharmaceutical powders prior to encapsulation, tableting, and packaging into sachets. The system can be programmed to detect foreign particles of a specified color or colors.

Advanced Camera and High Speed Processing System

Detection of colored foreign matter is accomplished using a 5000 pixel RGB line sensor camera, an image processing section with advanced algorithms and a newly designed lighting section equipped with an automatic light control function. This results in a system that can detect fibers and hairs down to 30µm dia. x 3mm long, and small particles down to 40µm-60µm in diameter.

The rejection mechanism employs a precise rotary nozzle system ensuring accurate pinpoint suction only around the foreign substance, thereby increasing the yield of the recovered product.

The supply section uses a rotary feeder to ensure that a constant and uniform supply of powder is deposited onto the inspection belt at all times. The wide inspection belt provides a constant supply of sample material, resulting in a very high throughput of up to 100 kg/hour.

The POIE8000A is equipped with the exclusive "linear feature extraction function", which gives it the ability to detect fine fibers and hairs.

Fast, Easy Cleaning & Maintenance

Due to the modular nature of the design, there are a minimal number of parts to be removed for cleaning or product change over. Once the parts are removed, the processing compartment can be easily and quickly cleaned. Components can be easily removed for easy cleaning and replacement of parts.

Color Touch Screen Operator Interface

The control section uses a touch panel that allows for easy, centralized control of operations. This enables the monitoring of production data, inspection condition settings, and inspection status and storage and retrieval of recipes. Error messages are also displayed on the touch panel for confirmation.

A user authentication system with three security levels is employed that requires the use of a user ID and password.

The system log function retains a log of changes in equipment status and inspection conditions.

In addition to accessing the machine functions and operating screens, the interface can also be used to retrieve inspection reports, summaries, error reports, etc.
